Jayna Hefford grew up in Kingston, Ontario. Following the footsteps of her brother, hockey was the family sport of choice. “When we weren’t playing, we were watching it on TV” she says. She plays Right Wing for the Brampton Thunder and has been a member of the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team since 1998 Jayna has attended 3 Olympic Games; she is a two time Olympic Gold Medalist (2002, 2006) and an Olympic Silver Medalist (1998). She is a five time World Champion and the National Women’s Hockey League’s all-time leading scorer.
Along with Lori Dupuis, Jayna has helped to create the Lori Dupuis and Jayna Hefford Female Hockey School. The school runs in the summer and is designed to teach girls the fundamentals of the game.
Jayna is also a graduate of the University of Toronto Physical Education and Health program.
