Thank you so much for visiting my page! I recently took a position with this wonderful international, humanitarian organization called Right To Play. I am ecstatic about joining their team and cannot wait to make an impact in children's lives worldwide.
The mission of Right To Play is to improve the lives of children in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world by using the power of sport and play for development, health and peace. I am honored to have the opportunity to run the New York Marathon on behalf of Right To Play so that children have the opportunity to play again and regain some of their lost childhood.
As many of you know, the New York Marathon has become very dear to my heart, as well, after losing my very close friend, Ryan Shay. An elite American distance runner, Ryan fatally collapsed on this same course just five miles into the U.S. Marathon Olympic Trials nearly three years ago. I will run every step of this marathon in his honor and to raise money for this wonderful cause. Ryan and I were both fortunate to have the opportunity to play as children which shaped our lives tremendously. In running this marathon, I want to extend this same opportunity to youth across the world.
My pledge is to raise $4000.00 which would allow 80 children to participate in weekly Right To Play programs a year. Please support my efforts if you can, no donation is too small!
