Club Values
Quest University is located in Squamish, British Columbia. A Canadian organization focused on child development, Right To Play aims to use sport for development and peace to address growing concerns around the world.  Their main goals are to promote health and disease prevention, education and development, peace building and conflict resolution, and community development and participation. Our main goals as a club is to become integrated in the Squamish community, and teach elementary-aged students about the benefits of sport and play, and promoting awareness about children in developing nations.

Upcoming Events
As the weather gets warmer in British Columbia, the club is looking to host Right To Play play days for the local elementary schools. Additionally, Olenka Forde, the president of the club at Quest, will be participating in the Right To Play Global Youth Summit in Rwanda this summer to learn more about the organization. Congratulations, Olenka!

Past Events
During the month of December, the Right to Play club at Quest University sold and delivered candy-grams for students, faculty and staff. At the annual Questival celebration, we sold Right to Play gingerbread men and hand-made crafts.

Quest University and Crossfit Squamish were host to a 24 hour row on January 15-16 to raise money and awareness for Right to Play. The ergathon had teams from all over Squamish, as well as one made up of our own university students, showcasing their athletic abilities in support of Right to Play.

Right to Play representatives from Liberia came to the Quest University campus on March 2, for a fun and interactive presentation. Quest students loved the games, learned about the role of Right to Play around the world, and were inspired to share the organization's values with the rest of our community.

On April 13, Quest University students hosted a Right to Play activity day with grade 6/7 students from Garibaldi Elementary School. While playing soccer, basketball, squash, frisbee, and Right To Play games with varsity athletes, club members and student volunteers, the kids were taught about the power of sport for development and peace. The event was a huge success and despite the rain, everyone held smiles for the whole afternoon. This is an event that we hope to continue in the upcoming school year with other schools around Squamish.

On September 17, Right To Play and CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) partnered to produce the awareness event "Go Shoeless." Universities across Canada, including Quest, participated in the event which was be held at our home soccer games. Go Shoeless encouraged the coaches of the teams to go without shoes for the game to bring awareness to children who just want to play.

Again during the month of December, the Right to Play club at Quest University sold and delivered candy-grams for students, faculty and staff. At the annual Questival celebration, we sold Right to Play gingerbread men and hand-made crafts.

The Quest Photography Club teamed up with Right To Play in December to put on a silent auction in support of Right To Play. Students from the photography club were encouraged to donate photos depicting 'play,' they were framed, and auctioned off to the Squamish and Quest communities. The event was a huge success with live music, food, and information and merchandise for Right To Play.
